Some call it 'cut glass' and others call it 'resized.' These terms describe the process for taking a standard Liquid
Crystal Display (LCD) and resizing to meet your requirements. Under a licensing agreement for this patented technology,
SGB engineers have established a proprietary process for transforming a standard LCD and resizing to a custom square
or rectangular configuration.
Today's commercially available LCD's are intended to meet the demand of the mass market. A factory run of custom
LCD's is just too expensive to be considered for low and medium volume specialized display solutions. For these
low and medium volume requirements SGBs re-sizing process is a highly cost effective alternative. The re-sizing
process is done at our facility in California.
The technology, a proprietary process, consists of taking a COTS LCD and cutting it to a size need, resealing it
and putting it into service with no change in its original performance. Our process opens up an almost unlimited
source of custom sizes for avionics, vehicles and industry at a fraction of the cost and lead-time.
The resized LCDs are being used to replace EL, PDP and CRT displays that are no longer available. We produce 'off
the shelf' standard square sizes ranging from 2.5" to 26" diagonal. Essentially, we produce all the common sizes
used in modern avionics, medical and industrial displays. See our build list below and call us for pricing. Click
here for our spec sheet.
We also produce custom rectangular LCDs up to 30" diagonal. If you require larger format displays, greater than
30" diagonal, our process is scalable to very large panels or we can even produce a two-cut panel solution mounted
side by side, with a nominal gap.
